Two complaints about the latest Thunderbird update

1. Most frustrating: the search function, which never worked that well to begin with, is now even less effective.

2. All the email addresses for which I had already allowed remote content have been reset, which means I must repeat that indication again for dozens of messages.

Thunderbird is generally an excellent email platform, but with this update, the search function, which needed fixing, was instead made a little more broken, while the message preference designations got "fixed" even thought they weren't broke.

1) How, or in what way, is it less effective? Which particular search function do you have in mind? (ctrkl+k global search, ctrl+shift+f folder search, ctrl+shift+k QuickFilter or ctrl+f body text search? Or something else?) I update as soon as new versions are available and haven't seen any change in the search tools for some time. Have you leapfrogged a few versions?

2) This is an acknowledged (and, IMHO, unfortunate) issue. Developers mentioned and discussed this in the run-up to the release of the last version, but I'm not sure how well it was publicised.
