I don't want mails to be gathered in conversations, I always want to see all mails sorted by date
Whenever I receive replies to a mail, the mails with the same subject are gathered together in conversations. To look for a specific mail, it is too easy to overlook the mail as it might be hidden in a conversation. Can I get rid of the conversation-option and just see all mails as they get in?

Yes, this helps to see all the mails. But it doesn't solve the problem that conversation-related replies are received by conversation, not by date. So it is possible to receive a new mail without noticing, as it is somewhere down the list in a conversation.
I want to get rid of conversations altogether, I want to receive my mails by date, not by conversation.
Ow...now I found the (easy) solution myself. So stupid to overlook this option.

Wow, what a revolution! And your self found solution varies from the one I provided days ago how?
Ehhh...sorry, but yes. Your solution made all mails visible, but still sorted in conversations. As said on above mentioned site: "Threading can make finding one email in a conversation difficult, especially if it's part of an early conversation."
But I could not find the unbelievably easy option to disable threading in my Dutch version of Thunderbird. Probably also due to the wrong of search terms I used.
Anyway. Problem solved.
Tell me what I am missing in your "found" 3 step solution. This new found solution consists of 3 steps. View-Sort By-Unthreaded Sounds very similar to what I gave you. Make that exactly what I gave you. How does that work when my solution days ago did not? I am not trying to be a jerk, just trying to see the difference that you must see.
Ah. Ehm. Yes. Well..... It appears that I first looked at (I hope I translate the words correctly) Views - Conversations. Thinking back I must have assumed that you missed out the "conversations"bit, as that was wat it was all about. And I did not see a unthreaded-option there, only an option to unfold them.
So...I misunderstood the instructions, followed a wrong direction, and was under the impression you told me so.... Then I never looked back to check your solution again, but found a problem like mine...with a solution like yours... ;)
