After the latest update Thunderbird is no longer downloading my Gmail emails.

I use Thunderbird to download my email from my Gmail account. On 24 May I closed down Thunderbird in the afternoon, later that evening I opened up Thunderbird to check on my emails, Thunderbird indicated it would start after it finished downloading the latest update. I have been unable to access my emails from Gmail since that update. I did receive a message indicating that there might be a problem with the number of server connections to cache. My connections were set to the default 5 connections. I tried resetting to 10 but I still could not download my emails. I also tried setting to 4 but still was unable to download any emails. Just in case the problem was only with downloading emails I tried sending an email but I received the following message: “Sending of the message failed. The message could not be sent because connecting to Outgoing server (SMTP) smtp.gmail.com failed. The server may be unavailable or is refusing SMTP connections. Please verify that your Outgoing server (SMTP) settings are correct and try again.” I have tried the “Troubleshooting” option under “Help” but nothing is happening. I am running Windows 10 and Thunderbird 91.9.1 (32-bit)

This probably applied. Have you completed the oauth reauthorization steps? https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/automatic-conversion-google-mail-accounts-oauth20

Went through the reauthorization process, restarted Thunderbird but still no luck.
