Since changing to WINDOWS 10 Thunderbird crashes (sometimes) on DELETE or, less often, on SEND. It has been suggested that I disable virus email checking which is hardly a solution! Seen suggestions and instructions, which I have followed, to "repair" the "Delete Folder" via "Properties "but this never works. I use Bitdefender anti virus software.

And you're not willing to even try with antivirus disabled?

Here on this forum we frequently advise users to disable AV scanning of their email because it scrambles the mailstore. So in fact switching off that part of your AV is indeed a real solution.

The "on-demand" element of your security software will step in if you try to open or run any attachment. Thunderbird does not and can not run scripts.

..... but why turn off AV software when the problem must stem from Windows 10? Moving to Windows 10 is when it started.

And you think nothing else changed when you switched to Windows 10?

Please just try it.
