I recently upgraded from Firefox 36 to 39.0. Everything went smoothly. All my bookmarks and browsing history were still intact following the upgrade. However Firefox keeps clearing my download history, despite the fact that I have it set to remember all my history, going back six months, including downloads. This is very annoying since I need to keep a record of my downloads.

How do I fix this?

In order to change your Firefox Configuration please do the following steps :

  1. In the Location bar, type about:config and press Enter. The about:config "This might void your warranty!" warning page may appear.
  2. Click I'll be careful, I promise! to continue to the about:config page.
  3. look for privacy.clearOnShutdown.downloads and make sure its set to false.

I had to wait a few days to see if my download history would indeed remain intact, but your solution appears to have worked.

Thank you so much, Guigs!
