I like foxstart but it has recently changed to babylon! how can I reverse this

more options

I have my suspicions that it was as a result of looking at google crome thinking it was just an update of what I usually use via foxstart. But since then, this dreadful "babylon" search engine comes on to my tool bar instead of foxstart, along with loads of unwanted and horrible pop up adverts !

I have tried all sorts of thigs to try and get rid of the bloomin thing to no avail, please put me out of my misery and tell me how to do it

Chosen solution

To all those who gave me helpful solutions to my ghastly babylon intrusion, I am finally rid of the beastly thing but only after completely deleting firefox off my system and then reinstalling it afresh. thanks again to all.

hello goldilocks46uk, please go to firefox > addons > extensions & remove any suspicious entries (toolbars, things that you have not installed intentionally, etc). also go to the windows control panel / programs and remove all toolbars or potentially unwanted software ("Browser Manager", "Bprotector", "Object Installer") from there and do a full scan of your system with the security software that you have in place.

Remove a toolbar that has taken over your Firefox search or home page

afterwards you can install the searchreset addon to reset some of the customizations babylon did back to the default.
