When I go to "Organize Bookmarks", I want to find what folder my bookmark "Ask.com" is in, so I type "Ask" in the search bar. It then gives a list web sites/bookmarks, some of which don't appear to have anything to do with "ask" . But it doesn't tell me which folder it's in.

The search function in the Library window (Bookmarks > Organize Bookmarks) is pretty weak and could stand some improvement (like an option to search for whole words only, etc.); maybe someday the developers will address the issues for bookmarks search.

To display the folder in which bookmarks are located, this add-on will add a new column to the right panel in Bookmarks > Organize Bookmarks: Show Parent Folder: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/7372/

After installation and restarting Firefox, -in Bookmarks > Organize Bookmarks, click Views > Show Columns, click Parent Folder. You can drag the column headings in the right panel to order them to your preference. -also see Options in Tools > Add-ons > Extensions, click on Show Parent Folder, click Options.
