T'bird latest version suddenly stopped receiving new email messages.
Long time Thunderbird user here...
This started about 2 days ago. I have changed nothing in my email account settings and MailWasher is able to download all new messages with identical account settings.
When I hit the Get Messages button, an Error Notice appears stating that "Connection to Server <my server details> has been interrupted." This Notice disappears pretty quickly so I can't capture it for you.
What is this referring to and how can I rectify the situation to enable me to receive New Messages? Although MailWasher can receive the new messages Ok, it is not a practical email client with which to manage my email correspondence.
What ever you can do to assist me with rectifying this will be greatly appreciated.
Kind Regards, Mal McNelley.

Does problem change? (many users have found antivirus software causing problems)
Hi Wayne... :)
I have tried this a couple of times yesterday but to be sure, I tried again just now but still no joy unfortunately.
Have also tried to uninstall and reinstall, a couple times, but this also didn't seem to achieve anything. Tried restoring the drive from a known good Backup, just to make sure but this was no good either. Have also tried deleting and restoring the Profile from another known good backup, but no result.
I'm not sure which way to go with this now and what might be happening to cause it. SSD checks out Ok, no errors found. Also Repair Installed Windows from a new ISO download from Microsoft, still no good. Is there any knowledge about what the Error Message itself means and why it would appear?
Have tried all the usual things to verify that the Windows Installation is good, sfc /scannow, all DSIM options, etc but all checks out Ok as well.
Any other ideas of what to try? Appreciate all the help...
Cheers, Mal.
Also, forgot to mention that I just use the Default Windows Antivirus application with occasional use of Malwarebytes...
Mal.
