Google Maps cannot access my location when I'm in Firefox. I'm running Mac OS Big Sur on an M1 Mac. Safari works fine. Location Services is enabled in System Prefs.

I think it's a Firefox permissions issue. My IP address is showing accurately. As I said before, Safari is working fine.

Go to the web page. Once the page is loading, mouse to the address bar and Left-click the icon. There should be a right-arrow somewhere. Press it. Now select More Information. On the top select Permissions. In the menu, Make sure the ones you want to use are set to Ask or Allow.

You can also check the location setting in "Tools -> Page Info" and in Settings.

  • Tools -> Page Info -> Permissions -> Access your Location
  • Settings (Options/Preferences) -> Privacy & Security -> Permissions: Location -> Settings
