Everytime I open Firefox, none of my bookmarks, passwords, or history are saved. How do I change this?
I recently had to wipe my MacBook Air clean thus prompting me to download Firefox - version 70.01 (64-bit). I set up all of my work websites, history, passwords, emails, etc., but every time I close the browser and try to open it again, nothing is saved. I've tried several times and I am at a loss. Yes, I have created a Firefox account, and even this won't leave me logged in if I close the browser. I have to start over every time. Any advice?

It sounds like maybe reinstalling Firefox created a new profile folder for you and maybe that's the one that Firefox is trying to load by default.
If you go to the about:profiles
page in Firefox, so you see multiple profiles listed? If so, try the Launch Profile in New Browser button to see if that brings back your data. If it does, use the Set as Default Profile button to force Firefox to open that profile by default.
All of that is explained in more detail at the bottom of the Recover lost or missing Bookmarks article.
Hope this helps.
Thank you for the reply! I feel that solved most of the issue - I have one profile set as my "default," but every time I launch Firefox I have to sign in, go through the process, etc. How do I have my firefox account already logged in every time I launch the browser? My passwords, bookmarks, history, etc. all appear once I sign in, but I would like it to be automatic. Any thoughts?
Thanks.
There could be an issue with the profile that Firefox is using. You may want to try creating a fresh profile as your default and then seeing if the data stays saved.
Thank you for taking the time to try and help, but unfortunately the problem still exists. When checking the profile manager, almost 10 more profiles have been created after I set a "default" one.
At this point, it seems it's best to move on from Firefox. Making changes that are not user friendly for the average user isn't the best move, especially when there is no customer service number to call and resolve issues in real time. I have used firefox for years, but now they are making it incredibly difficult for one to navigate and use properly. This is disappointing as they are losing a long time user.
Is Firefox loading into a different profile each time you open it? If you go to the about:profiles
page, has it launched a profile other than the one that you have set as the default?
Hello, I'm one of the developers who works on Firefox Sync; thanks to Wesley for raising this issue for our attention in bugzilla.

This is definitely not expected behaviour, so there may be something that has gone wrong with your Firefox install to cause this buggy behaviour. If you're willing to try further debugging steps, I asked around some of the other Firefox developers and they suggested some things to try:
- When you installed Firefox, did you copy the application out of the downloaded `.dmg` file and on to your local disk? Sometimes this behaviour is caused by running Firefox directly from the downloaded `.dmg` file.
- When running Firefox, you can visit `about:support` to view some diagnostic information. One of the values on this page is labelled "Application Binary". Does the value reported here change when you restart Firefox, or stay the same?
Hopefully we can figure out what has gone wrong with Firefox here and get you back up and running!
