Sounds like your are in Full Screen Mode. Tap the F11 key to turn Full Screen Mode on or off. See http://kb.mozillazine.org/Netbooks#Full_screen
The Firefox button has replaced the Menu Bar (File, Edit, View, History, Bookmarks, Tools, Help). You can display the Menu Bar in place of the Firefox button OR you can temporarily display the Menu Bar and make selections from it while the Firefox button is on:
- To temporarily display and use the Menu Bar, press the ALT or F10 key and make your selections from the Menu Bar.
- Menu Bar checked: Menu Bar on; Firefox button off
- Menu Bar un-checked: Menu Bar off; Firefox button on
- Click Menu Bar to check/un-check it after doing any one of the following:
- click Firefox button > Options > Toolbar Layout
- click View > Toolbars
- right-click in the empty space at the end of the tabs
- Keyboard shortcut to toggle Menu Bar on/off: Hold down ALT key and press letters VTM
