If I place my cursor at the beginning of a text field on a webpage (left margin) and pull the cursor down to the bottom of the screen to capture to the end of the page, the selection process stops at the bottom of the currently visible screen, and will go no further. If I start at the bottom of the same web page (right margin) and drag the mouse to the top of the page, it will continue to scroll the page until I get to the top. This started with Firefox 4.0. I did the same operation in IE8 and it works as expected.

Works for me in Firefox 4.0.

Do you have that problem when running in the Firefox SafeMode?
A troubleshooting mode.
You can open the Firefox 4.0 SafeMode by holding the Shft key when you use the Firefox desktop or Start menu shortcut. Or use the Help menu item, click on Restart with Add-ons Disabled... while Firefox is running.
To exit the Firefox Safe Mode, just close Firefox and wait a few seconds before using the Firefox shortcut to open it again.

If not, see this:

Happens in safe mode as well. Also turned off hardware acceleration under Options/General tab. This is a default install with no changes other that the network settings for connectivity. I have manually disabled all add-ons - no change in symptoms.

Thanks for the suggestions.
