Meanwhile the bookmarks appeared again, so thank God, problem solved!

Actually, the problem is still there. A can see all my bookmarks in the roll down menu if I click on bookmarks in the menu bar, but they're not there in the bookmark window (that appears if you click on the bookmark icon in the menu bar) , and I can't find them either in the manage bookmarks panel. Please help! Thank you!

Ps.: if I repeat the restore function in manage bookmarks panel, then the bookmarks appear on the side Bookmark column, but they are doubled in the roll down menu! :-(((

Just to make things more interesting: each time I exit Firefox, all bookmarks disappear. (Even newly (during the last session) added ones.) When I restore the bookmarks, they appear in both the bookmarks column and in bookmarks roll down menu, but they don't appear in manage bookmarks panel. If I make an export or a html save, the file is empty although the bookmarks are present in the above mentioned places... Is it time to switch to Chrome?

Meanwhile I suggest you make manual backups to suitably named files in case things get lost more permanently, and to mitigate against problems if sets of bookmarks are inadvertently overwritten.

The link you posted is trying to make a new article, id doesn't point to an existing one. (Bookmarks Lost.) Please reply with the correct link! Thanks! I can restore the bookmarks, the problem is, they don't remain! So I don't think the problem is an overwritten sets of bookmarks, I think it is a bug in Firefox.

Problem is probably more likley to be with your profile being corrupt or not modifiable, rather than a firefox bug, the article now I have corrected the link should, I hope help you.
