Every time I open firefox the following line in my config: "browser.theme.toolbar-theme" gets set to zero and it changes me to dark mode. How do I stop this?
Whenever I close Firefox and restart it I find that my browser is set to dark mode every time, I discovered that the culprit in my congif is the line "browser.theme.toolbar-theme" which sets itself to 0 every time I start firefox. Despite every time I change it back to 1 so that I keep light mode on. Is there any solution to this or maybe a way I can reset my about:config back to default as a nuclear option? I'd rather not lose all my tabs if possible but this is quite annoying.

Firefox sets that preference dynamically every time you open a new window. It is based on the text color in your toollbar theme:
- dark text => Light theme => preference value 1
- light text => Dark theme => preference value 0
I think you see where I'm going with this: to stop Firefox from changing your overall color scheme, you can change your toolbar theme to one that has dark text. That doesn't need to be the blinding Light theme, it can have some pale color. For example:
- Firefox Logo: https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/firefox-b/
- Winter snow: https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/blue-winter-snow/
- Green shoots: https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/printania/
- Great wave: https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/japan-style-kanagawa-gr-232767/
- Kitten: https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/savage-black-kitten/
Hmmm, that's odd, cause the text in my current theme isn't dark at all. It's white text yet it sets me to dark mode. I guess I'll try a different theme.
Yes, did I write it backwards? White text = Dark mode.
What are the options? I use dark text and the preference is set to 2.

If you run the Firefox System theme, I think 2 means "automatic" based on your OS system theme.
Thanks. I am using an installed theme so anybody's guess.
