Maybe someone from Firefox tech help can explain to me , i have enhanced privacy on', delete all after i shut down firefox, no third party cookies accepted etc....... after i shut down the browser from say watching 2 movies i have ccleaner and other various moniters saying its finding 2-4000 trackers they have to delete. also am being redirected to other websites and im sure the site im on isnt hacked'. google which i stopped using had about 400 trackers after the same. also have adblocker plus running all the time with strict settings. call me crazy but spying on me is not acceptable under any conditions! so if firefox is blocking them why are other programs finding trackers with a long long list to delete? Im sure this post will be deleted as i may be letting the cat out of the bag to unsuspecting other users of firefox. have a nice day.

What are the "trackers" that are discovered? Do they mean cookies? What kind of details do they provide?

If you use the "Custom" level of Enhanced Tracking Protection, with Cookie blocking enabled and set to All Third-Party Cookies, Firefox should only be accepting first party cookies, which presumably would be a far lower number.

Next time, before exiting Firefox, open the the "Manage Data" dialog from the Settings page and check the sites that are listed. Are you getting a lot of sites that you did not visit directly?

Also, which setting(s) are you using to clear cookies at shutdown?
