I use ATT DSL, which gives me Yahoo. But I use Thunderbird for my email. When I 'reply' or 'forward' an email, the recipient sees " " added to the each sentence (not the quotation marks, I added them for this message). This happens on multiple computers using the same ATT DSL and Thunderbird.

here is an example: We do have flight reservations for Colorado for early June. But that is on SW airlines, so if we had to cancel we would have a full year to use up the tickets without penalty. One thing on our bucket list has been to take the train in Durango, Co. Hopefully we will get to do that. We will also go to Mesa Verde NP and also Arches NP in Utah and a few other places in between. We took a chance and made the reservations for the train

The link in the page I cited says:

"If you're sending through a Yahoo (ATT, Rogers, Verizon etc.) type server and your recipients see unwanted characters, set mail.strictly_mime to true in Tools/Options/Advanced/General/Config. editor to enforce Quoted Printable encoding (Outlook default)."

Change the preference mail.strictly_mime to true by double-clicking (toggling) it in Config. editor.

Press Alt if the Menu Bar with Tools is hidden, or click the 3-bar icon at the upper right, Options/Options/Advanced/General/Config. editor.

This happens with sending through a Yahoo-based mail service. See if changing the preference mentioned here fixes it.

I am so lost! The link you provide says 'the thread was archived'. I try the other suggested fix, but I cannot find the menu items you tell me to use. I have looked in the Thunderbird tools menu and the Yahoo tools menu. The tree " Tools/Options/Advanced/General/Config. editor " cannot be found by me.

Thank you internet god. The prime statement to me was 'double-clicking' to toggle the entry to true once you showed me where the hidden menu was. Thanks soooo much
