How do I choose my homepage to appear when opening a new tab instead of the frequently visited websites which appear by default?
When I manually open a new tab, a page appears which has previews of some of the sites I frequently visit. Instead of that I just want my homepage to appear.

Chosen solution
- Type about:config in the address bar and press Enter.
- Press the big button to bypass the warning.
- In the Search bar, paste browser.newtab.url
- In the search results, double-click browser.newtab.url and set its value to whatever URL you want, e.g. https://www.google.com/ig If you want the default Firefox homepage, you would set the value to about:home

See this article about the New Tab page (about:newtab):
You can set the browser.newtab.url pref to the preferred home page.
Finally, after god knows how many versions, a solution that gets rid of the stupid default page.
This 'feature' alone is the reason I moved to Opera.
Thank you so much for the help
