when sending emails in TB, multiple copies are put in my trash folder
I am using Windows 10 but it was the same in Windows 8 Every time I send an email, multiple copies are sent to the trash folder. Does this have anything to do with me having gmail? if so what and how can I fix it?

When you open Write to create emails, it is possible that you have the 'Drafts' option saving a draft every xx minutes. When the email is finally sent, those 'draft' copies will be deleted and thus appear in the 'Trash'.
In my pop mail accounts, when I have sent the email, the draft copies are deleted, but they do not go to 'Trash'. They disappear totally. In gmail, they send them to the 'Trash' folder.
For IMAP accounts: Gmail recommend you save drafts in the gmail drafts folder so that you will have access to them via webmail and other imap linked devices - in other words saved on the server.
However, if you do not need them saved to the Drafts folder on the server, you could use a different folder eg: Drafts in Local Folders.
Tools > Account Settings > Copies & Folders for imap mail account or right click on mail account name in folder Pane and select ; settings Then select Copies & Folders for imap mail account
Under Drafts and Templates section: Keep message drafts in:
- Select 'Other' and 'Local Folder > Drafts'
- click on OK
Why are emails not sent to the 'sent' folder. Why do they get sent to 'trash'.

Draft copies are deleted, so you will see those in the trash.
Only the 'Sent' email will have a copy put in the 'Sent' folder.
Thanks Triab, I did as suggested by putting my drafts in my Gmail drafts folder but now when I send an email I get a copy in my inbox as well as the sent folder gorwyn
