I bought a CD with 12 songs (mp3) from CD Universe. This is about the 12th time I've bought and dowloaded a CD. I now realize Firefix was default set to dowmload mp3 to Quicktime add-on unbeknown to me. The files for all 12 songs are in Downloads (<CONTR>-j). Ive tried to move them and to copy/paste but nothing works. HELP!

If you use the little folder icon on the right side of a download to "Open Containing Folder" can you get to the actual, physical files?

From that point, you might be able to drag them to your real music library, or point Windows Media Player to that folder and have it import them.

Any luck?

Change your downloads to a download only file. Also, if you go to the Mozilla Add-ons Web Page and search for a download sorter. They can sort by file extension and even by the web site.

I was able to obtain the music files from CD Universe again. Download went OK.

Thanks for your help!

Start whatever program you want to use, have it open files, and select the files you want to play. If the files type is associated to that program already, just double click that file.

Problem solved. Music files were sent anew from vendor: CD Universe.
