Firefox crashes unexpectedly and intermittently. The crash reporter does not appear and I am unable to restore tabs from my previous session before the crash. This has been happening in the last few releases. I'm currently running 11.0. The crash does not display on the about:crashes page. Typically when Firefox would crash I could open a new window and I would then be giving the option to restore my session. However, now when I open a new window after a crash it is a blank page. I then have to close that page and open a new instance of Firefox.

Someone else with an XP has had problems with Firfeox crashing but not reporting CrashIDs. No solution yet, but it may be worth reading and trying the suggestions in the thread

The user in that thread is having problems with Firefox 11 but not Firefox 9.

Edit
Do not forget the standard troubleshooting step

  • Try in safe mode <-- clickable link for instructions
    • no need to do anything in the first checkbox options window, just click on continue
    • if you continue to have problems in safe mode, ensure that whilst in safe mode you disable all plugins
see also troubleshooting extensions and themes
    • I have been reminded that security software may need to be considered

There are other things that need your attention.

Your above posted system details show outdated plugins like Flash and Java with known security and stability risks that you should update.

Did you try a clean reinstall (delete the Firefox program folder) and a new profile?

Download a fresh Firefox copy and save the file to the desktop.

Uninstall your current Firefox version, if possible.

  • Do NOT remove personal data when you uninstall the current version or you lose your bookmarks and other data because all profile folders will be removed.

Remove the Firefox program folder before installing that newly downloaded copy of the Firefox installer.

Your bookmarks and other profile data are stored elsewhere in the Firefox Profile Folder and won't be affected by a reinstall, but make sure that you do not select to remove personal data if you uninstall Firefox.

If that new profile works then you can transfer some files from the old profile to that new profile, but be careful not to copy corrupted files. See:
