since updating firefox, the url displayed in my browser is "stuck" on the url for the website in the first tab I open. If I click on a link in the website to go to a new page of the website I'll get the new page, but the url in the browser remains unchanged. Also if I open a second tab and paste in a different url, the desired website opens but the url in the browser remains unchanged, i.e. it displays the url for the first tab.

Example: I type in the url for one of my own websites. It opens fine and the proper url is in the browser window. Now I click on a tab within my website to go to the "about" page. I'm taken to the "about" page, but the url above still shows the plain url for the home page. Or if I open a new tab and click on my "speed dial" to open another website, I'm taken to that other website but the url displayed in the browser is still the url for the first website in the first tab.

Also - another freak thing. Within this very message onthe forum page, when I highlight a word and click the ital button above, I don't get ital, I get quote marks.

Using Windows 7, using Speed Dial, using LastPass.

A twitter icon is now in my browser window, to the right of the "go" arrow. i didn't put it there. what the hell is that for? If I hover over it, it advises me of how many characters I have left, apparently counting the url in the window as characters of an intended tweet.

correction, the ital button does work - it just displays as quote marks while I'm composing, then converts to ital when I submit.

That is how you can format text to show in italics i.e. using two single quotes for ''italic'' and three for '''bold'''.
