If I delete INBOX and INBOX.msf will Thunderbird just make new ones?

more options

I have had problems using IMAP to download my Inbox from OWA. I've had some help in the forum understanding where things went wrong. I would like to start "fresh" but not delete all the settings in my profile. I tried the repair option, it seemed to delete INBOX and INBOX.msf. I was hoping to try again as cleanly as possible. As I have tried creating INBOX several times and each time I seem to get all my mail, but the size of INBOX varies by hundreds of MB.

If I just did this-

Close Thunderbird Manually delete INBOX and INBOX.msf Start Thunderbird

would I be creating any grief for myself? My biggest fear is deleting mail off the server, as I need to access it on a lot of devices.

Thanks.

Hello there jt -Swanson. We have read your message. We try to help you,

http://kb.mozillazine.org/Thunderbird_:_FAQs_:_Recover_Deleted_Account

The Msf.files are index files-folders that you reset rebuild. There are no emails included that can be erased. But take a backup of your emails before you going to. And if you have anti virus make one check for your files. Just in case to check if they can be corrupted.

Delete the msf.files not the inboxmap. If you just delete the inboxmap you lose all your email.

You just can delete one Msf file or just delete all Msf files.

For rebuilding re index messages etc you can delete the gloda files.

Greetings Firefox volunteer.
