I had to restore my computer to factory settings. After I reinstalled everything, and copied my profile, I am not able to save my setting on my puzzle society site. It is saved in chrome, and on my other computer in firefox. I have cleared cookies. I have refreshed firefox, and that did not resolve it. Everything works fine except that. Before I had to restore my computer to factory settings, I did not have a problem. Please tell me what to do. Thanks.

Check if Firefox is set to clear data.

Where would I find that setting? Should it be checked or unchecked? Thanks.

Special settings for a website are usually stored in cookies. So you need to make sure to keep such cookies.

Make sure you do not run Firefox in permanent Private Browsing mode (Always use Private Browsing mode; Never Remember History).

  • Options/Preferences -> Privacy & Security
    Firefox will: "Use custom settings for history"
  • remove checkmark: [ ] "Always use Private Browsing mode"

You can use these steps to make a website recognize and remember you:

  • you can create an Allow exception to keep specific cookies, especially in case of secure websites and when you delete cookies when Firefox is closed.
  • Options/Preferences -> Privacy & Security
    Cookies and Site Data

Thank you so much. Will try it tomorrow and will advise.

I did what you said and it still does not save my settings for that site. I don't know why this is happening.
