For both notebooks HP EliteBook 820 and 840 models, using a fresh install of Firefox, the popup for ask to save password is not shown. I tried to save password using a different laptop model, then copying logins.js and keys.db from the different laptop model to the two HP notebooks and, in this case, the login on websites works properly. So the problem is related to the popup that is not shown causing blank list in saved accesses. I already checked all settings in options and then it is a fresh install with default Firefox settings.

Start Firefox in Safe Mode {web Link} by holding down the <Shift>
(Mac=Options)
key, and then starting Firefox. A small dialog should appear. Click Start In Safe Mode (not Refresh).

Is the problem still there?

Type about:preferences#security<enter> in the address bar.

Under Logins, Turn on Remember Logins To check the passwords you have listed, press Saved Logins. Is anything listed?

Start your Computer in safe mode with networking. Then start Firefox. Try Safe websites. Is the problem still there?

Make sure you do not run Firefox in permanent Private Browsing mode (Always use Private Browsing mode; Never Remember History).

  • Options/Preferences -> Privacy -> Firefox will: "Use custom settings for history"
  • Deselect: [ ] "Always use Private Browsing mode"

@cor-el I have default firefox settings, so I'm not in "Always use private browsing mode".
