Hi, having tried restore to be able to overcome save image option sometimes creating defunct jpg's, I now have lost the bookmarks i always have displayed down left side of screen. How do I get these back and crucially make them stay this time. I managed to get them back (and cant remember how now) but upon reboot they are gone again.

Also I restored the file edit stuf at top and that has also vanished again. This should by default exist, so why make default the opposite ?

Isisombululo esikhethiwe

The "default" in Firefox for awhile now is to not display the Menu Bar [File, Edit, etc] and the Bookmarks Sidebar being open has never been the "default". Once you select both to be showing all the time Firefox should remember your preference for those two "bars".

At the top of the browser window, right-click one of the toolbars and select Menu Bar. { Ctrl + B } will open [and close] the Bookmarks Sidebar.

And if Firefox doesn't remember that the Bookmarks Sidebar and the Menu Bar are supposed to be showing all the time, there is a problem with the files that stores your preferences. https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/how-to-fix-preferences-wont-save

I would like to be sure of your issue. Is the bookmarks panel not any more displayed, or are your bookmarks missing in the bookmarks panel?
