Recently Firefox is not displaying PDF files. It acts like it loads the PDF but there is nothing there but the 'program' that the document should be shown in.

This started with Firefox 20 and still persists with Firefox 21. It never happened before. Everything is up to date. However, the PDFs don't display. Sometimes I can see the progress bar showing a load and sometimes it's just the normal PDF program background, but regardless, it is not displaying. What's happening with this?

By the way, I end up having to go to Chrome to view the PDF since I cannot get them to work in Firefox.

Thank you so much. That seems to work. What a shame the Firefox preview version isn't more functional!

Firefox 19 introduced an integrated PDF viewer. Unfortunately, it can't handle all of the formats and features supported by the Adobe plugin (yet). To switch, check out this article: View PDF files using Firefox’s built-in viewer. Does that solve it?
