So, since the last hour, every time i try to open Nightly it crashes.. I am always getting the updates automatically so i do not know if it is the latest update.. I can open a regular Firefox browser but not Nightly.. Any ideas?

For the Troubleshooting information I can only provide the ones i get from the normal Firefox browser because i can not even open Nightly.. So you can only see the add-ons I use but not the version. Thank you beforehand..

Why not use the most recent official release of Firefox? The one from which you posted is version 11.0. The most recent release is 15.0.1. You can get that one here:

I've seen more crash reports with such a signature lately.

You can try to ask advice at today's daily thread on the MozillaZine forum.

Can you open the Profile Manager and create a new profile?

@finitarry The thing is that Firefox, even version 11 opens correctly.. The problem I have is with Nightly version..

Even so, I did update to the latest stable Firefox version, which makes no difference.. Firefox still has no problems but Nightly crashes.. Thank you for the advice nonetheless..

@cor-el I will now check your links and will keep you updated with any news.. Thanks a lot for the reply..

@cor-el It seems there is a problem with the latest Nightly update.. I created a new profile with Profile Manager and same thing happens.. I have access with Firefox but Nightly crashes again.. :/

You will have to revert to a previous Nightly build.

See:

I have downgraded Nightly to the previous version, which did the trick for me.. Sorry for not posting here earlier..

@gribdesbois The version that works for me is:

http://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/firefox/nightly/2012-09-28-03-05-44-mozilla-central/firefox-18.0a1.en-US.win64-x86_64.installer.exe

But in case you want to search more version go to:

http://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/firefox/nightly/

Hope this helps and thanks to everybody..

I was having the same problem.... But I keep forgetting that when you upgrade firefox... or it updates automatically... you need to right click on the firefox start up icon, go into properties, click on the compatibilities tab, and put a check in the "Run This Program As An Administrator" box, then hit apply. Start Firefox, and it should work OK. Problem is...each time you upgrade firefox and/or I think Adobe flash... you need to make sure that box is checked. This is on Firefox 15.0.1 with Adobe Flash 11.4.402.278 all up to date, Windows 7 64bit. Firefox with Adobe Flash add-on needs to run in admin mode, or it will hang.

Failing to run as an administrator is probably not a cause of many crashes.

Although that may be a problem some users encounter it is unlikely to be a problem with Nightly use. (Unfortunately many users will have the opposite problem: not taking the precaution of running limited accounts, so most probably run everything as admin anyway !)

Most Nightly users may be expected to be competent and probably advanced computer users, or developers.

I would agree with John99.. I can not imagine why administrative rights would cause Nightly to crash. I guess it does have something to do with Flash. As for me, the solution for now is to use the older version.. All of the new upgrades i tried still crash..

I may not have taken in the information fully, and have not yet tried Nightly on 64 bit windows but it appears there was a temporary fix with Bug 795748 - please disable pgo on win64 builds

So I think you should now have Nightly working, if not what is the current CrashID ?

I guess it does have something to do with Flash.

Presumably you have multiple installs of Firefox & Nightly, are you also having problems with Flash, if so on with which combinations of Flash & Firefox versions, and have you tried with Adobes's FlashPlayer proteted mode disabled  ?

well that is weird for me everything has returned back to normal since the next build; basically it only crashed about a full day. i am with nightly x64 by the way

Gald to hear it is working again. Lets hope Molentar also has success with a recent build of Nightly.
