How do I set the home page as a tab, so that tab is always visible?

I want to be able to have the home page as a visible tab so that when I visit other sites I can leave those sites open while I jump back to the home page, without having to exit the sites when I go home. This would give greater flexibility when surfing the web and enable the tab function to be used to its full potential.

A possibility is to pin the tab with the home page via the right-click context menu of that tab, so it will appear as the first tab and make sure that you open links in a new tab.
You can use Ctrl+1 to go to the first tab and use the right-click context menu to close all other tabs if you want to keep the Home page tab open and get rid of the other tabs.
