How to sort bookmaks alphabetically - HELP file useless - changing back to IE

more options

After one hour of battling with the help file I still can't sort my bookmarks list alphabetically.

Its not that I am not computer literate (I am a programmer) but faithfully following every step in the help file produces no change in the list of book marks.

Tempted to ditch Firefox and go back to IE where a simple right click can be used to select sort by name. Firefox is a far superior explorer - pity about this user hostile detail

You can only sort one folder at a time with Firefox, so yes the Firefox help article would be rather useless because it does not use extensions.

Or actually where are you sorting -- bookmarks sidebar, bookmarks menu, library list.

The library list-- "Show All Bookmarks" ("Ctrl+Shift+B") -- is strictly temporary.

To sort in Firefox you must select the folder, you can longer sort from within the folder.

You want to install the "SortPlaces" extension to be able to recursively sort through each sub-folder.
