Hi kshanti, it's a very different problem on Mac. You have a hijacker. Does your Preferences page mention that "your organization" or "an extension" is controlling any settings? Could you share a sample results URL for "BrowserDefault" / Bing to see whether any of the parameters in the URL point toward a culprit? More generally: (A) Extensions are a common source of search engine changes. (B) Malware on your system could inject changes into Firefox's settings. I have a similar problem - I search on firefox but end up with bing result saying there 'are no results' - i.e. a blank page. On the page right there is a hyperlink to 'add Bing Firefox extension'. Any suggestions what is happening. It seems that, unless I have a webpage as a favourite already, Firefox searches automatically default to Bing, but returning no results? Not sure what's going on. Firefox is my default browser.

My problem was solved by disabling an Addon called "Windows Tab". To see if you have such an add-on, go to Open Menu (3 dashes in the upper right corner of the Firefox task bar); then ""Options"; then "Extensions & Security" (lower left corner); Under "Enabled" you should see "Windows Tab," Right click the three dots under "Windows Tab" and click "Disable."

That should solve your problem.
