I upgraded Firefox today (running MacOS 10.12.6), and deleted two "profiles" which apparently contained all my bookmarks. How do I get them back?

Ugh. I already posted this information. So when I upgraded Firefox today, it asked me to pick one of two "profiles", which I knew nothing about. (This has never happened before when upgrading Firefox.) I thought they were some kind of malware so I deleted them. It turns out that they had all my personal information, including bookmarks. (Why don't you explain to users what these things are before you ask them to keep or delete them?) So I lost all of that stuff. But now there is a folder on my desktop called Old Firefox Data, which, I'm guessing, contains all of my old Firefox data. How do I restore this information to Firefox?

No, Firefox did not tell me to delete them, but it did require me to make a decision (which numbered profile to use, or to create a new one) when it had never provided me any information about what a profile was or why I had two of them.

In any event, in the interim, I figured out that I could copy and paste the old user data into the new profile, and it seems to be working. Thanks for responding to my problem.

Hi, am sure Firefox did not tell you to delete them. If had questions about them you could ask or search. The OldFirefoxData folder was created because the Profile was corrupted and moved and a new one made.

You can transfer files from a previously used profile to the new profile, but be cautious not to copy corrupted files to avoid carrying over the problem. Never work with original files.

Fyi for the future Always :

Please let us know if this solved your issue or if need further assistance.
