When streaming, Firefox starts taking up too many system resources and keeps doing so until it's entirely closed.

Running on Kubuntu 16.04. When I watch videos on YouTube or stream videos from Twitch or Smashcast, Firefox starts consuming far too many system resources, causing the entire computer to drag (it is quite severe). It does not appear that stopping the stream or closing the tab is sufficient - it only noticeably clears when I close Firefox entirely. Provided I do not watch videos, I do not suffer the problem.

I am running Sophos, which has detected no virus/malware on my system. Updates are up-to-date.

Firefox v55 has been having problems with graphics drivers and protection programs.

Check out Firefox v56 beta, some of the issues with Intel drivers have been fixed. https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/beta/all/
