I do not believe in synchronizing everything, everywhere, via the web. 1. It is too much, I do not need everything from my PC on my phone. Not even bookmarks. I have got thousands of them, and they are not relevant on my phone. 2. I do not have trust in this synchronization, too afraid it will fail and mess up. Which I have seen between my Outlook contacts and Android! 3. Sending everything over the web is the worst one can do with regards to privacy. As everybody is listening in, NSA, Google, ...

So what I want is a partial export of my bookmarks to start with. Preferably just directly from my PC to my HTC Android phone over a wire. On PC I have got all my bookmarks in Firefox. Export (which is partial) to the HTC browser by HTC Sync currently fails, and this browser is going to disappear anyway. Now, if I would have to do it by Firefox Sync, so be it. But then I want to do it selectively, like by copying bookmarks into a special folder. That is not an option now, as far as I know.

So Mozilla, please make that happen.

Then there is the remaining issue of the non existence of bookmark folders on Android, which is a separate question elsewhere...

Hi

Thank you for your question about better bookmark management in Firefox for Android.

Bookmark management is under consideration, but a delivery date is currently unknown. Please follow the Mozilla Blog for updates on this and other new Firefox features.

Firefox Sync is a great tool and it too is subject to future work to make it even better.
