Why is it every time you force some BS update on us you break EVERYTHING? Ok so the search bar is a new UI that I guess incorporates some of the addons that were not included. Fine. But again without asking about compatibility FF installs this. So great lets try your new search UI and see how it compares, before I try to find out how to revert... Problem is search bar is GONE! Just a big empty spot and no "search" in customize! So now I have to find out why it is gone, how to bring back and PROBABLY revert. And I must do this all WITH NO SEARCH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And it has been installed for 5 mins, have a feeling I am going to love this update!

被選擇的解決方法

You can revert to the previous Search Bar scheme like this.

Open up about:config (typed in the Location Bar) Right-click and toggle this preference to false

browser.search.showOneOffButtons

Then restart Firefox.

Hmmm I give up am tired!
Looks like search option grabbed all one-clicks re-sorted and lost all my organization and for some stupid reason decided to make YAHOO my default? Did they pay for that? Kinda like adware don't u think? Guess I am lucky I did not get a viral spam bar too!
And why yahoo? Used to use them way back, until I noticed yahoo results were provided by google!!!

Thanks did find that just wanted to give the new ui a go. Will just assume it sucks and revert. After all gone altogether should be an indication?

Thanks man!

Couldn't say for sure (since I cannot see new UI) but I would assume.

Eds revert works...

Missing some search/sort and had to dump yahoo

https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/search-bar-add-change-manage-search-engines-firefox = is correct for the version of Firefox and the OS which is used to view that page. The content adjusts automatically for what you are using at the time you view each KB article.

more options

The information the article shows depends of the Firefox version as there is a difference when you select 33.0 and 34.0 in left side.

Or is supposed to?

Nothing to left about 33/34

First image is of the vanished search bar

"Search bar - add, change and manage search engines on Firefox"

Same before I reverted.

Ed and I were referring to the comment made by finitarry "So, I guess this page is out of date?"

Look to the left of the article where it says "Customize this article" to change Firefox version and OS the article is for. https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/search-bar-add-change-manage-search-engines-firefox

I know, i see it now. Had to enable FULL java and the drop-down "Editting Tools" has those options. And still has a similar "Search Bar" which in my 34 has vanished entirely. No longer a Bar or customizable. Reappears on revert, but changes in my addons only no Search Bar. So this revert might be only temp again come 35/36...bummer.

Why would a support page be using Java? I thought Java was being phased out.

more options

None of the KB pages require Java, although JavaScript does need to be enabled for 5 of the 6 domains that show up in NoScript. The OP has other "issues" going on.

For this page:

I found that I could get the most recent content if I use Safari to read it, rather than a Mozilla application. The setting under "Editing Tools" does not seem to work with Firefox or SeaMonkey, even with faked user-agents.
