cannot upgrade,download new version,or renew firefox,using win8
I get error message that my current version of firefox is out of date.I click the update button,it starts to download then stops and says-download interupted, click to continue,it then says I need to download latest version,so I click download and get the download window, the progress bar just keeps flashing on & off,A couple of times I got a solid progress bar,but when it was almost finished I would get the pop-up window stating that download was interupted again.Current version is 21.000 I've followed all the trouble shooting guidelines with no success . Help!

I'm sorry you are having trouble. Let's do a few things here :)
First, update windows. You need to install Windows 8.1 and then do Windows updates
- http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-8/windows-update-faq
- http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-8/update-from-windows-8-tutorial
After doing that, (Run windows update a few times to make sure you pick up every update), go to www.getfirefox.com and download the new version of Firefox. After it downloads, close Firefox, and run the installer. It will update Firefox to the latest version.
Hi Tyler,Thanks for Your speedy reply, but I upgraded to 8.1 and had nothing but serious problems with it,so I went back to 8 and the only issues I've had with 8 is the firefox issue. Is there some way to get this resovled using just 8? Otherwise I'll just wait for 8.2 8. 3 or 8.4 to come out (lol)
Well, its not secure to be running anything under 8.1, so you should install 8.1 update 1 asap.
However, this isn't windows support ;)
For the first issue, try using the download from https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/all/
let me know if that helps :)
Hi Tyler, I tried several times to download from the link You sent me,& each time this error code popped up (Error code: ssl_error_rx_record_too_long)
What website are you trying to access when the ssl_error_rx_record_too_long error pops up? What are your Proxy settings located at The image "new fx menu" does not exist. -> Options -> Advanced -> Network -> Connection -> Settings? The default is Use System Proxy Settings which goes off of IE.
