A few weeks ago, I noticed that Firefox was getting slower and slower when loading pages, and scrolling down had incredible lag. It got exponentially worse until I just restarted Firefox, which lagged after closing for such a long time, it was actually faster to restart my entire computer. For a while, this fixed the problem. I'd be fine for two or three days. Then it came back, and got exponentially worse in a short amount of time. Restarted again. It only fixed the problem for two days. I kept restarting over the weeks, but the slow-down kept coming back faster and faster. I've cleared the browser cache, cookies, everything. I've updated every possible plug-in. When I reset Firefox completely, this also reset the slow-down timeframe. It took two or three days to come back, just like the first time, and it keeps getting faster all over again. How do I keep from having to reset Firefox every two or three weeks?

How much RAM do you have? it could be that opening many tabs at once is zapping out all your RAM, the solution in this case would be to not have many programs opened and not having that many tabs in Firefox open.

If you have sufficient RAM it could be like my case (https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/979200?page=2) and an addon (or more than just one) is the cause of your issues, in that case, since Firefox has no built in task manager like Chrome to show which addon is using so much resources, youll sadly have to go through the painstaking process of testing your browser with all of them disabled and enabling them one by one till you figure out which one is the culprit.
