thunderbird crashes when I try to delete mail. I have plenty of disk space.

thunderbird crashes when I delete mail. It says it can't compact mail to trash. It also says check disk space. I have plenty of disk space.

Is it the disk space of the trash folder? Thunderbird may have a limit of 4 G Byte maximum folder size.
