Some webmail sites may turn URLs into hyperlinks automatically, while others require you to click an icon and fill in a form. I haven't tried this on the mobile version of Firefox. Is there such a link icon for your webmail site? It usually would be on the same bar as formatting buttons such as bold and italic.

Which mail site is it? A volunteer who has an account on the site could take a look using Firefox for Android.

hi Thanks4thehelp

I just sent an email from my GalaxyNote3 using yahoo mail with the following html link:

http://support.mozilla.org

and the link worked. i.e. support.mozilla.org was a clickable link.

You are right that there is no rich text editor to easily make links on Firefox for Android. This is a web compatibility problem. If you feel you are technical enough please file a web compatibility bug by following the instructions at the following link: https://wiki.mozilla.org/Compatibility/Guide#Reporting_a_Web_compatibility_issue

if not, i will file a bug for you.

To be more specific, if I use my computer to open an email that was sent from my phone (note 3), the link is not hyper linked and this applies to my families computers as well as they called this to my attention in the first place. On the other hand if I open the same email using my phone the, link does appear as a hyper link. I'm assuming the phone has some web-link identifying software? not sure.

I took a look at this and felt a little lost.

Roland, thank you for following up on this before I was able to get back to it.

Messages I send from Yahoo's mobile mail site using Firefox for Android are in plain text format. There is no way to insert any kind of formatting or HTML in a plain text message. Most mail clients will "linkify" URLs found in plain text messages.

I don't see any options/settings to change the mail format.

For what it's worth, Chrome for Android gets the same compose page.

hi Thanks4thehelp

Sorry for the late reply. Jscher2000 is right as he is 99% of the time (thanks J!)!

Yup there is no rich WYSIWYG text editor on Yahoo mobile reply to easily create HTML links in both Chrome and Firefox for Android so there is no bug for me to file!
