whenever I try to open most websites I end up with a blank screen showing akamaihd.net or driveriopti.net with a blank page, which I have to reduce or close to get to the page i am interested in. I have noticed that your start up runs thru many of these (redirected?) screens.

Also having problems with pop-ups from any words in green in the body of instructions.(including your help site) that have nothing to do with what I am trying do.

It's gotten to the point that I will no longer go with Mozilla if a resolution can not be found.

hello richmar, this sound like your system is infected with adware or malicious software. please try these steps:

  1. reset firefox (this will keep your bookmarks and passwords)
  2. afterwards go to firefox > addons > extensions and in case there are still extensions listed there, disable them.
  3. finally run a full scan of your system with different security tools like the free version of malwarebytes and adwcleaner to make sure that adware isn't present in other places of your system as well.

Thanks, I went in and downloaded adware from lavasoft and am not having problems that I was having minutes ago. I had previously had other adware but apparently it didn't do the job.
