I have moved it from the 2nd monitor to the primary and closed it there. I have cleared ALL the History/cookies, I have cleared Sessions. Nothing seems to make it open back up in monitor one. This happened one time before and all I did was move it over to the correct monitor and close it there and it worked fine. This time, I can't seem to make it do what it's supposed to do. I really want it to open on monitor one because I don't alway have the other one on and it's really annoying when it opens there and I think I'm still waiting for it.

It's fairly common that Windows programs remember the location of the last closed Window. Can you drag it back to monitor 1 and close it there the next time? I see that hasn't worked.

If not, you can rename or delete the file that stores this position information. Unfortunately, that also will clear your toolbar customizations. Here's how:

Open your current Firefox settings (AKA Firefox profile) folder using

Help > Troubleshooting Information > "Show Folder" button

Switch back to Firefox and Exit

Pause while Firefox finishes its cleanup, then rename localstore.rdf to something like localstore.old

Restart Firefox. Window position and toolbars should be restored to default.

(In theory, it's possible to edit localstore.rdf if you want to try that first, but the format doesn't seem well documented.)

Thanks so much, jscher2000! Worked like a charm. Also had the same issue with Thunderbird and it worked like a charm on that too! I've printed out for future reference, just in case my old brain forgets.  :)
