My network connection works well (wireless approx. 25 Mbit/s downloading, cable approx. 140 Mbit/s) with everything except Firefox on one of my computers. Firefox performance is only 1-4 Mbit/s irrespective of wireless or cable. Firefox in failsafe mode and IE9 in normal mode on the same computer have expected good performance. I have no more ideas what could be the problem with firefox settings/plugins or whatever (see troubleshooting information). Some who has?

hello bildoskar, there are many reports that f-secure doesn't work well together with adobe's flash plugin 11.3+ (since it has introduced a protected sandbox mode) - other users have had similar symptoms. please try the following steps:

  • also make sure that enhanced process monitoring is disabled in advanced settings > computer > deepguard since it might interfere with adobe flash' and or generally disable deepguard.
  • if this does not increase the download speed to normal levels you could try downgrading to flash 10.3 since it's still maintained by adobe and see if this resolves the issue.

Thanks a lot, the second bullet, to disable the deepguard "enhanced process monitoring" in f-secure, solved the problem! The first was already disabled in this case.
