I am asked to select an app each time I attempt to open a linked file via a website. How do I tell firefox to use the same app every time?
I have a website; www.designed4submariners.com. On several pages, I have created links to images which are located in a upload file folder. Each time I click on one of those links on the active website (using Firefox as browser), a dialog box appears asking me: What should Firefox do with this file? Beneath the question is a pull down menu which has "TextEdit (defualt)" selected next to a radio button. The image file will open in a browser window when I select Firefox from that pull down menu. I can not tell Firefox to open all similar files using Firefox. How can I resolve this issue as I must go through the same process each time I attempt to open one of those links.

no link to my knowledge. it is known win 7 asks you to associate a program every time u open an online file. i think you should configure win 7. im not an expert yet in win 7 but it does this im sure on many computers who freshly installed win7

This is a windows 7 problem as far as i know. Not a Firefox problem. Unless you have an older version of Windows, you can still try this: check in your Firefox browser that remember history is ON.
Can you post a link to a page with that problem?
This is usually caused by using a link with a file extension that isn't configured on the server.

I am a Mac user. I don't use windows.

As it turns out, the issue I described was created because I had placed parentheses within the name of each file that was uploaded to my website. Those parentheses where the remove the extension from the file as it was uploading into the upload file.
