I cannot find a yahoo toolbar that is compatible with the new Mozilla Firefox 12 that I have downloaded onto my laptop. Firefox keeps advising me not to continue with every download that I try. Thank you

Does that message have an 'Allow' button on it?

You should be able to press that button and install the toolbar.

The reason the message pops up is because you are installing an add-on that is not from the official firefox add-ons site. That is fine but firefox is just warning you that it is happening. Without that warning malicious websites would be able to install add-ons without your knowledge. It is just a check to make sure that you did intend to install an add-on.

I hope that helps. Let me know if the Allow button isn't working.

I get no problems at all installing it from here:

http://uk.toolbar.yahoo.com/

or for the US:

http://us.toolbar.yahoo.com/

Is that where you are getting it from? Could you describe the exact error message you get?

Thank you for your reply Eddyc. Firefox has prevented me from installing the toolbar that you suggested. Not sure why?

Could you tell me exactly what firefox says?

I am using FF12 and just installed the toolbar fine.

Hi again. When I click on the download and tick agree for the installation to start, firefox pop up message reads, Firefox prevented this site (UK toolbar.yahoo.com ) from asking you to install software on your computer?

Thank you for helping me

Thank you Eddie. I am worried that to click ALLOW will cause Firefox to crash. I am on my friends computer trying to sort it out for her. My own Laptop crashed when I tried to install a yahoo toolbar, although I am not sure if it is the one you have reccommended. I will do the download when she is with me over the weekend, as long as she wants me to continue, just incase. I will let you know how I get on. (Women eh!!) Thank you for all your help. I am really grateful..

No worries. Post back here if there are any problems. Clicking Allow shouldn't cause a crash.

I'm not sure I would go so far as to say I recommend the yahoo toolbar! But maybe I am just biased.

Hi Eddie. I have put the toolbar on with no problems. Decided to trust in your advice as you seemed to know what your talking about. I am going to do it on my own laptop. Thank you so much......
