How do I limit my history somewhere between zero and infinity with Firefox 7.0.1?

With previous versions of Firefox it was possible to set a range of dates to control the length of time our browsers kept URLs on file. Apparently we no longer have any way to choose between saving browsing information forever, or else deleting it every time we end an Internet session. What happened to our ability to limit the span of time our browsing sessions remained on record?

Why has the useful functionality of controlling the length of time our browsing history remains on file been replaced with the option either to allow our computers to become cluttered almost beyond belief with a total recall of every site we have ever visited, or else erase our tracks every time we exit Firefox?

I would like to maintain a two-week history of where I've been, but nor more than that. Is there a way to accomplish this in the latest version of Firefox?
