I'm using the latest version of Firefox and I have updated my relevent drivers. I am running Vista Home Premium on a Sony Vaio laptop. The touchpad is an Alps Pointing Device.

This problem has been bothering me for YEARS, and every now and again I get inspired to try and fix it. But still no luck! I'm sad that Firefox have not 'fixed' this issue when they released new versions of the software.

I've tried changing the settings in about:config (as suggested in other discussion threads about this issue) and nothing works. Tried different drivers, no luck. Any guidance would be appreciated.

Interestingly, the area of my touchpad that is set to horizontal scrolling acts "dead" in Firefox. Finger movements on it do nothing... the cursor doesn't move at all.

Hopefully an update fixes this. I have had this problem for a long time, tried many different fixes, no luck. Horizontal scrolling works in IE9 however.
