I had to create a new profile since my old one stopped working. Followed the instructions and did that. Then copied my information from the old profile to the new one. When I look at the new profile, all the information, bookmarks, etc. are there but the browser doesn't recognize any of them. How do I make all this work.

First make sure that you have copied the files to the correct location. The profiles article explains how to open the current profile folder.

What files did you copy?

I copied all the files from my old profile to a USB drive. Then used the profile manager to locate the new profile and copied all the files there by dragging and dropping. When I open the new profile, it shows that all the files and folders are there starting with chrome but when I click on the drop down menu in firefox there are no bookmarks.

It is quite common for people to believe they have found the profile folder but actually be looking in the wrong place. I want to ensure that you are looking in the right place. For Windows 7 the profile folder will normally be inside this folder: C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\

There should be a folder with a name something like xxxxxxxx.default (xxxxxxxis a random string of letters and numbers), that will be the profile folder.

What files did you copy? This will help confirm that the correct files were copied.

I located the profiles folder using the profile manager and when I clicked on the button it came up. SHould I do it the other way by searching? I copied every file that was in the old profile to the new one.
