How do I stop 'Work Offline' from blocking access whenever I log on?
Whenever I start Firefox, I cannot get access until I 'un-tick' the 'Work Offline' box. This is a serious pain in the you-know-what and is rapidly persuading me to dump Firefox for a more user-friendly browser!! How do I turn it off, permanently?

Create a new Boolean pref with the name network.manage-offline-status and set the value to false.
To open the about:config page, type about:config in the location (address) bar and press the Enter key, just like you type the url of a website to open a website. If you see a warning then you can confirm that you want to access that page.
Dear col-el,
Thank you very much for your reply, but I regret that I am none the wiser!
I am as 'thick as a brick' as regards computers and don't know what a "Boolean" pref is, to say nothing about finding it so that I can name it _network.manage-offline-status_ and setting its value to _false_.
Please regard me as a complete idiot from the time you receive this reply, and take it from there, just very slowly indeed?
(And thank you in anticipation for your patience!)
Kind regards
John Difford
Thank you for your assistance, 'cor-el' - now I just need to know how to 'create the new "Boolean" pref' : I opened the "about:config" page, but don't know how to 'create the new "Boolean" pref with name _network.manage-offline-status_'. There is a blank 'Filters' bar near the top of the page but nothing that I type in there works, and the '_network.manage-offline-status_' does not appear in the list beneath, probably because I still have to create it! My apologies for being a pain in the you know what, but I really do appreciate your patience and self-control when handling my stoopid questions! Many thanks. John Difford
