Bookmark Spacing

Good Morning Mozilla Tech Support: Bookmark spacing NEEDS to be part of your Firefox User > Tools > Settings. When I go into 'Tools' > 'Settings' > 'Bookmarks' I NEED to be able to select and adjust Bookmark 'Spacing'. The current Firefox "mandatory default' double spacing in Bookmarks is grossly wasteful and very time consuming to navigate. Please fix this problem... User control of Bookmark Spacing seems logical and is a reasonable request. Thank-you for understanding and HOPEFULLY fixing this Mozilla oversight and serious User Control issue...

Please set a compact mode.

I went to do it and... "Compact mode workaround in Firefox Compact mode is not currently supported. For the recommended and supported experience, we encourage you to keep the normal density setting." [1] Why should a 'simple' user setting of Bookmark Spacing require a 'workaround'??? [2] Mozilla tech support should fix common problems, not design second-hand workarounds. I think of it as simply an immature lack of professionalism. If this was an aircraft navigational system user problem I'm sure Tech Support would correct it properly... For Mozilla the bookmarks ARE a basic navigational system failure. Hopefully they will repair their Nav System called Bookmarks.

The double spacing was introduced recently - in version 89, from memory. I avoid it with code in userChrome.css although I use compact mode also. The partial effect of compact mode on bookmarks was a grudging concession Mozilla made to the many who objected to the new spacing.

Even though it might go away at some point, you can still use it for now.

If you want to give suggestions for changes in future versions of Firefox, check out the "Ideas" site at https://connect.mozilla.org/. If you search in the "Ideas" section you'll probably find a similar suggestion you can vote for. If not, you can post a new one.
