HELP! I'm on a mac and I have managed to nix an entire folder. It's not in my profile (~/Library/Thunderbird/Profiles/) at all anymore and I'm afraid to close out of Thunderbird now and lose any chance of recovering these emails. Something like 2,000 messages are gone. I'm close to tears -- this is my work in progress and open contracts folder! None of the messages exist, the folder and subfolders don't exist -- the replies in SENT are still there though. It's not become a subfolder elsewhere and it's totally missing (screenshot of error attached). Screenshot of library/profiles also attached. The missing folder was called "Freelance Production" and it's just not there! At this point, the only thing that seems to be moving is if I hit Cmd+Z over and over ... it says "undo move message" -- but I see nothing happening and I would actually sit here and hit it 2,000+ times if it helps but I'm not sure that's what is going on at all. PLEASE help me restore this folder and its subfolders. Is there an older back up somewhere I can find? I host with dreamhost but this is years' of email gone!
