Using Windows 10 - WHERE do I change the printer used from Firefox?

more options

Print function on Firefox does not even tell me which printer is being used - just sends the document to "print" Windows 10 does not have a "default printer" setting. WHERE ON FIREFOX do I direct traffic to a specific printer? I have the option on Microsoft Edge and Chrome, where/how on Firefox?

Hi cyra, when you click the Print... button or press Ctrl+P, Firefox should show a dialog before sending the print job to the system. Firefox's print dialog looks a bit different from the regular Windows one, but if you prefer, you can switch it. Here is a screenshot of the regular one:

Is your Firefox completely skipping that dialog? Check to make sure it is not set for "silent" printing. Here's how:

(1) In a new tab, type or paste about:config in the address bar and press Enter/Return. Click the button promising to be careful or accepting the risk.

(2) In the search box above the list, type or paste print and pause while the list is filtered

(3) If you find a bolded line starting with print.always_print_silent and set to true, double-click it to switch the value to false

This preference does not exist in a regular installation of Firefox, so if it's completely missing, that's normal.

I don't get that screen - please look at my screenshot. Silent print avenue (about.config) takes me to "Hmm. We’re having trouble finding that site".

That's because you typed about.config (with a dot) instead of about:config (with a colon) ......

Hi cyra, two things.

First, the Print dialog should appear when you use the Print... button at the upper left of that preview screen.

Second, if that is a PDF, I suggest opening it in your regular PDF viewer for printing, since Firefox's PDF viewer doesn't always give you a pixel-perfect rendition of PDFs. You can use the download button on the PDF Viewer's black toolbar for that (for example):

Okay, sounds like it is not a PDF. Try the Print... button at the upper left of the Preview screen.
